Christel Vilogron founded Orange County, CA-based IEBP Global Trade Compliance consulting. She brings more than 25 years of combined practical and managerial export compliance experience accumulated during her leadership roles held in the federal and private sectors across various industries. Christel has served clients an array of routine or unusual export compliance situations that involve the regulations of BIS [Export Administration Regulations (EAR)]; DDTC [International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)]; and Sanctions Program regulations of the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and CBP’s regulations on ACE.
Having completed close to 1,000 compliance audits throughout the U.S. and abroad, besides her audit expertise, Christel’s clients benefit from process improvements, cost savings and export program strategy tips. She develops policies and procedures, including tailored Export Compliance Manuals, Technology Control Plans and DDTC Agreements, as well as Employee Training; Commodity Jurisdiction and Product Classification processes, License Management under the EAR, ITAR and OFAC Sanctions Programs. Christel initiated and played key roles in working with Federal agencies to gain the elimination of a licensing requirement and the elimination of a burdensome step in a license application process, resulting in major wins.
Appointed by then U.S. Secretary of Commerce William M. Daley, Christel served on the President’s Export Council Subcommittee on Export Administration (PECSEA). The current U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Penny Pritzker, appointed Christel to serve on the District Export Council of Southern California until 2017. Christel is a Board Director of the Foreign Trade Association (FTA), a member of the ICPA, SIA, NAPW and WIT-LA, where served as Vice President in 2015.
Christel has a B.A. in International Relations and is fluent in German and speaks basic Spanish and French.
